Getting ready to go…

We are returning to Turkana in October with a group of volunteers. We aim to visit different sites, including Lodwar, Todonyang, Nariokotome, Lomekwi, Nakinu & Lobur. We are sure that it will be an eventful trip.

We have a full programme of activities and we bring volunteers and specialists to:

  • Visit first hand the MCSPA mission, strengthen our friendship with Fr Victor and the other MCSPA members, the mission staff, the children and families of Todonyang.

  • Connect with St John Paul II day school sponsored by Holy Apostles Pimlico for Turkana, the Our Lady Queen of Peace boarding school, partly sponsored by the NewWays Children Sponsorship Programme set up by us in 2024, the community they serve, and strengthen ties with sponsors and supporters.

  • Carry out a geology study for the MSci thesis: “Why is lake Turkana’s water level rising”, by Imperial College London.

  • Shoot a photography project: “The water, the school and the Word”.

  • Perform activities with the children: art & creativity, career showcase, origami geometry, photo exhibition.

We look forward to visiting Turkana!
